Purchase calling calls for them to use and when you get here buy a cheap Digicel phone. They work great everywhere and you can give it away when you are leaving. For as little as $30US you can get an active mobile phone in Jamaica. The rates to call back home… you can get around 20 minutes for just 5 US dollars calling credit.
Just ask whoever carries you around to help you find a Digicel dealer. Call back home with the number and your kids will be able to get you. Just remember to charge the phone up. And yes, there are calling cards with some pins that you can purchase in the states. You can buy online or at a store.
